Hello, I'm an Adult - Nice to Meet You

Final - being the last in a series, process, or progress. It's final. I am no longer a student, and no longer a kid; I am an adult. If I didn't feel like one before today, I definitely do now. After I got off work today, I came home to a night of fun. I established my own auto insurance with Geico, transfered the toll tag payments to my debit card (instead of Mom's), and set up an automatic draft from my bank account for my car payment and cell phone. I knew my parents paid for a lot of things, but I never realized how much it all cost. Thanks Mom and Dad for always providing for me. Thankfully, my parents taught me the value of a dollar early in life and taught me how to save and budget. Knowing that this day would finally come, my bank account is prepared for the steady withdrawals that will hit me at the beginning of each month.

My Labor Day weekend was pretty much uneventful and relaxing. The major highlight was when Ali and I went over to her sister's house on Sunday night to enjoy dinner (steak, salad and beans) cooked by her husband. It was delicious! I've always claimed that my dad makes the best steak, and I'll continue to stick by it even though it was a close call. After dinner, we played Wits and Wagers. Wikipedia describes the game like this: "The game is played in seven rounds. One trivia question is presented each round, and each player answers every trivia question. Players simultaneously place their written answer to the trivia question on the betting mat, and then bet on the answer they believe is closest to the right answer. The House pays players who choose the correct answer based on the odds marked on the board." It was a really fun game and I just might buy it with some of my graduation money.

Work is going well and I just love being in Human Resources; it's fitting seeing that I am passionate about serving others. My constant prayer is that the Lord would be glorified in everything that I say and do and that people would see him at work in me. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20. My hope is that people would be able to see me for who I really am - a sinner, condemned, unclean - and that they would also see Christ for who He is - A perfect and loving God who ransomed me from an eternity in hell by dying on the cross for me and covering my sins with his blood. The King of the universe is constantly pouring out His grace and mercy on people like me. I just love Him...
